About the song:

The Seahorse is a song about taking care of what and who we love and need, be it nature, an animal or another person – or there may come a time when nothing we say or do can bring them back to us, leaving us with only longing and regret. The song was inspired by Justin Hofman's photo of a little seahorse clinging to a pink plastic q-tip highlighting the problems that plastic is causing in our oceans. 

 

About the design: 

I recently heard a theory that the ocean itself has a 'heartbeat'. On the cover, the beat in front of the seahorse is a healthy heartbeat that symbolises a time before humans began their destruction. The heartbeats behind are what a heart attack looks like – and the flat line is death. Pretty serious stuff, but it poured from my hand and seemed fitting.
